Make a Noise in Libraries Fortnight 

3-15 June 2019

Every year RNIB, Share the Vision and the Chartered Institute of Librarians (CILIP) celebrate Make a Noise in Libraries. 

The aim is to raise awareness and encourage the use of the accessible materials available for blind and partially sighted people in local libraries. Ultimately to encourage reading and a love of books in Audio and E-Audio formats but also to highlight activities in our libraries which can benefit people with vision problems. 

These activities include Shared Reading and Read To Me services where staff or volunteers read aloud to customers who would have difficulty reading a book themselves. 

Attendance at the weekly IT Drop-ins can help customers using a computer or tablet including changing using voice commands and setting up Recite Me or similar programs on a device which 'speaks' all the text on a page to the user. Recite Me is available on all the Torfaen County Borough Web pages in spoken English, Welsh or several other languages.

Pythefnos Gwnewch sŵn mewn Llyfrgelloedd

 Pob blwyddyn mae Sefydliad y Deillion (RNIB), 

Share the Vision a Sefydliad Siartredig y Llyfrgellwyr 

(CILIP) yn dathlu Gwnewch Sŵn mewn Llyfrgelloedd. 

Y bwriad yw codi ymwybyddiaeth ac annog defnydd o’r deunydd ac adnoddau hygyrch sydd ar gael mewn llyfrgelloedd lleol ar gyfer pobl ddall a’r rhai sydd â nam ar eu golwg. Yn y pen draw er mwyn annog darllen a chariad at lyfrau mewn fformatau clywedol ac E-glywedol, ond hefyd i amlygu gweithgareddau yn ein llyfrgelloedd sy’n gallu bod o fudd i bobl sydd â phroblemau gyda’u golwg. 

Mae’r gweithgareddau yma’n cynnwys gwasanaethau Darllen ar y Cyd a Darllen i Mi ble mae staff neu wirfoddolwyr yn darllen yn uchel i gwsmeriaid a fyddai’n cael trafferth i ddarllen llyfr eu hunain. 

Gall fynychu’r sesiynau TG wythnosol helpu cwsmeriaid sy’n defnyddio cyfrifiadur neu dabled gan gynnwys newid gan ddefnyddio gorchmynion llafar a chyflwyno rhaglenni fel Recite Me a’u tebyg i ddyfais sy’n ‘siarad’ y testun ar y dudalen i gyd i’r defnyddiwr. Mae Recite Me ar gael ar holl dudalennau gwefan Bwrdeistref Sirol Torfaen mewn Saesneg llafar, Cymraeg neu nifer o ieithoedd eraill.
