Christmas Stocking Fillers

Do your kids a favour this year and include some fantastic books in their Christmas stockings. I guarantee they’ll have more staying power than this year’s must have toy and be a lot cheaper. More importantly, they’ll fire the children’s imagination and foster a love of books and reading.

For some great ideas take a look at the winners and shortlisted titles for the CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Children’s Book Awards. Don’t forget, the titles you don’t buy can be borrowed from the library. Reserve a book

Judged by librarians the CILIP Carnegie Medal is awarded for an outstanding children’s book written in English and the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal for a children’s book with outstanding illustrations.
