Looking for some great holiday reads?

With a mixture of humour, romance, history and mystery (did you see what I did there?) I recommend giving these 6 a try.

Jessie Barton, The Muse
On a hot July day in 1967, Odelle Bastien climbs the stone steps of the Skelton gallery in London, ready for her luck to change. She has been employed as a typist by the glamorous and enigmatic Marjorie Quick, who unlocks a potential Odelle didn't realize she had. When a lost masterpiece arrives at the gallery, Quick seems to know more than she is prepared to reveal and Odelle is determined to unravel the truth.

Abby Clements, The heavenly Italian Ice Cream Shop
Set in stunning Sorrento, you’ll wish you were there.

Jilly Cooper, Mount
Rupert Campbell-Black is back in another racy romp set in the glamourous world of horse racing. What’s not to love?

Miranda Hart, Peggy and Me
For years Miranda viewed dog owners with some suspicion. She was bored by the way they only talked about their pooches, alarmed by their light coating of dog hair and troubled by their apparent comfort around excrement. But that all changed when, nine years ago, Miranda met Peggy. A treat for Miranda Hart fans and dog lovers everywhere.

Veronica Henry, How to find love in a book shop
Nightingale Books, nestled on the high street in the idyllic Cotswold town of Peasebrook, is a dream come true for booklovers. But owner Emilia Nightingale is struggling to keep the shop open. The temptation to sell up is proving enormous - but what about the promise she made to her father? Not to mention the loyalty she owes to her customers. Sarah Basildon, owner of stately pile Peasebrook Manor, has used the bookshop as an escape from all her problems in the past few years. Is there more to her visits than meets the eye? Since messing up his marriage, Jackson asks Emilia for advice on books to read to the son he misses so much. But Jackson has a secret, and is not all he seems.

Sarah Perry, The Essex Serpent
'The Essex Serpent' has at its heart the story of two extraordinary people who fall for each other, but not in the usual way. They are Cora Seaborne and Will Ransome. Cora is a well-to-do London widow who moves to the Essex parish of Aldwinter, and Will is the local vicar. They meet as their village is engulfed by rumours that the mythical Essex Serpent, once said to roam the marshes claiming human lives, has returned.

Ydych chi’n edrych am rywbeth i ddarllen yn ystod y gwyliau?
Gyda chymysgedd o hiwmor, serch, hanes a dirgelwch, rydw i’n argymell y 6 yma.

Jessie Barton, The Muse
Ar ddiwrnod poeth o Orffennaf yn 1967, mae Odelle Bastien yn dringo grisiau carreg galeri Skelton yn Llundain, yn barod i’w lwc newid. Mae hi wedi bod yn gweithio fel teipydd i’r cyfareddol ac enigmatig Marjorie Quick, sy’n datgloi posibiliadau nad oedd Odelle yn sylweddoli yr oedd gyda hi. Pan fo campwaith coll yn cyrraedd y galeri, mae Quick i weld yn gwybod mwy nag y mae’n barod i ddatgelu ac mae Odelle yn benderfynol o ddatgelu’r gwir.

Abby Clements, The heavenly Italian Ice Cream Shop
Lleolir yn Sorrento ysblennydd, byddwch yn dymuno bod yno.

Jilly Cooper, Mount!
Mae Rupert Campbell-Black yn ei ôl mewn stori fywiog arall ym myd rasio ceffylau.  Beth nad sydd yno i’w garu?

Miranda Hart, Peggy and Me

Am flynyddoedd bu Miranda yn edrych ar berchnogion cŵn gyda chryn amheuaeth.  Roedd hi’n diflasu wrth yr oedden nhw’n siarad dim ond am eu cŵn, yn dychryn wrth y gorchudd tenau o flew a oedd drostyn nhw ac yn poeni am eu hesmwythdra ymddangosiadol o amgylch baw.  Ond newidiodd hynny oll pan gyfarfu Miranda â Peggy naw mlynedd yn ôl. Gwledd i ddilynwyr Miranda Hart a chŵn ym mhob man.

Veronica Henry, How to find love in a book shop

Mae Nightingale Books, ar y stryd fawr yn nhref ddelfrydol Peasebrook yn y Cotswolds, yn freuddwyd ar ddaeth yn wir i ddarllenwyr . Ond mae’r perchennog Emilia Nightingale yn cael trafferth i gadw’r siop ar agor. Mae’r temtasiwn i werthu’n anferth - ond beth am yr addewid a wnaeth hi i’w thad? Heb sôn am deyrngarwch i’w chwsmeriaid. Mae Sarah Basildon, perchennog Peasebrook Manor, wedi defnyddio’r siop lyfrau i ddianc o’i phroblemau yn ystod y blynyddoedd diwethaf. Oes yna fwy i’w hymweliadau nag a welir ar yr wyneb? Ers difetha’i  briodas mae Jackson yn gofyn i Emilia am gyngor ar lyfrau i’w darllen i’r mab y mae’n gweld ei eisiau gymaint.  Ond mae gan Jackson gyfrinach ac nid yw’r hyn y mae’n ymddangos.

Sarah Perry, The Essex Serpent

Stori yw 'The Essex Serpent' am ddau berson neilltuol sy’n syrthio mewn cariad, ond nid yn y ffordd arferol. Cora Seaborne a Will Ransome ydyn nhw. Mae Cora’n wraig weddw gyfforddus ei byd sy’n symud i blwyf Aldwinter yn Essex, a Will yw’r ficer lleol.  Maen nhw’n cwrdd wrth i sïon ledu trwy’r pentref bod Sarff Essex, y dywedwyd ei fod unwaith yn crwydro’r corsydd yn hawlio bywydau dynol, wedi dychwelyd.
